Washington State Law Says:

Driving is a PRIVILEGE, Not a Right

Washington State law treats driving as a privilege, not a right. Under RCW 46.20.005, driving without a valid license is a misdemeanor. The state requires licensing, training, and testing - proving it's a privilege that must be earned and maintained.

❌ If it were a RIGHT:

  • • Government couldn't take it away
  • • No tests would be required
  • • Age wouldn't matter
  • • No rules could limit it

✅ As a PRIVILEGE:

  • • Must be earned through testing
  • • Can be suspended/revoked
  • • Comes with conditions
  • • Requires continuous responsibility
